A step-by-step guide to playing

Step 1

The first step that you need to do in three card poker live is to place an ante bet. This is a wager placed in front of the seat you occupy in the live game. It is mandatory to place this bet before the cards are dealt to all the participants of the game.

Keep an eye out for the minimum and maximum bet limits for the ante bet. You can wager an amount between $1 to $25,000. Along with the ante, you also have the option to wager one or two bonus bets (6 card bonus bet or pair plus bonus bet).

Step 2

The dealer will announce ‘no more bets’ to end the betting and distribute the three cards to each of the participants. The player’s card will be dealt face up while the dealer’s card is dealt face down.

Step 3

Once you have seen your cards, you would be given the option to make a play bet where you wager with an equal amount as the ante to proceed with the game. You also have the option to fold, which allows you to not continue the game and forfeit any bet that you have placed.

Step 4

The dealer will reveal their card, which requires a ‘queen high’ or better to play. They can announce either ‘dealer doesn’t play’ or ‘dealer plays with a queen’ depending on the card they have.

  • If the dealer has less than a queen high, the ante bet will be paid 1:1 and the Play bet pushes.
  • If the dealer qualifies to play, the dealer and the player’s hand will be compared. The higher-ranking card will win.
  • If the player has a higher-ranking card, both the ante and play bet will pay even money.
  • If the dealer has a higher-ranking card, the player will lose both ante and play bets.
